A £13.5m Care Village development comprising a new three and four storey building with six households, each providing 24-hour nursing and dementia care for up to 12 people and 28 independent living apartments linked to the conversion of the Grade II Listed former Maxims nightclub building for ancillary uses. Including Sammy Bell’s Tea Room, Pomona Inn bar, a hair salon, community heritage gallery and training and office spaces. Communal areas to the new building introduce a bistro, spa, gym, venue and library.
Maxims construction remains as traditional solid wall masonry construction, with remedial works undertaken to floors, walls and roofs. Roof construction is a pitched timber roof with a natural slate covering.
