Details

The project involved converting the former Terry’s Chocolate Works Headquarters, a Grade II listed building, in to a new residential care village for people living with dementia.  The village comprises of 82 rooms and 8 No. apartments arranged over ground and two upper floor levels. Works included the careful restoration of the central glazed atrium to provide feature day space accommodation with part mezzanine installation providing cinema room, bar, café and bistro, spa, gym and sweet shop. Works were procured under a 2 stage tender with the contract awarded to Simpsons of York working with lead designer Norr.

Current Status

Practical Completion was achieved 15 May 2017 and the development successfully registered with the Care Quality Commission shortly after.
