The Bardon 2 development site is approximately 29 hectares located adjacent the B585 West Lane/Victoria Road approximately two miles from Junction 22 off the M1 motorway.
The off-site s278 highway works were undertaken over a 13 week programme duration which included a six week road closure period in order to reduce the original contract period by five weeks. The works included utility diversions (BT, gas), construction of a new 5-spur roundabout, additional site access and new street lighting in advance of construction works commencing on the adjacent site to provide 3no industrial units (1.2m sq ft).
Working closely with Mountpark, Projex were instructed to provide Project Management/Employer’s Agent role along with financial monitoring and Principal Design roles on behalf of the client.
Winvic Construction were appointed on a design and build contract with a construction value of £1.8m. Works completed September 2018.
