Projex are appointed by DLG Architects to provide Principal Designer services on the SOYO (SOuth of YOrk Road) development in Leeds.
Caddick Developments Ltd are to transform the 6 acre Quarry Hill area into a leading cultural hub. Investing £300 million regeneration into the historic site, the plan is to build new spaces, from hotel-style apartments to new bars and restaurants. This will also feature some of the biggest public green spaces inside the city centre which the developer hopes can be used for outdoor theatre and music events, attracting local bands and artists.
The first phase of development for the wider Quarry Hill Masterplan is the design and construction of 2 new-build high-rise residential buildings. The scheme houses 515 private rented sector apartments with 73 car parking spaces, 8 motorcycle spaces, 284 bicycle spaces, external works and roads.
A multi-storey car park with 610 spaces over 8 floors, including a retail unit at ground level. This Huber car park system will incorporate all the latest design and safety features associated with modern multi storey parking solutions.
Residential development of 96No. apartments over 9 levels with retail units at ground level. Apartments range from Studio, 1, 2 and 3-beds, with Penthouse Suites on level 8. Block D will sit in a prime location within the overall masterplan with excellent vistas across the city and the newly created public realm spaces.
Works due to start on site in February 2019 for Blocks E&F, May 2019 – Block A and February 2020 – Block D.
