The Swan Hotel is an 18th century grade II listed building located to the south of Lake Windermere within the Lake District National Park World Heritage Site.
Projex have been instructed to manage the proposed extension to provide a luxurious indoor/outdoor spa facility and a further 28 bedrooms. Additional works comprise extending the car park, upgrading the private water treatment facility and flood defence works. The proposed extension is to be constructed in a very similar style to the existing hotel in accordance with the planning requirements.
Projex are currently negotiating the contract sum with Medlock FRB Ltd. All the works are to be undertaken in a live environment whilst the existing part of the hotel remains operational which requires careful coordination.
The proposals are to commence on site with an enabling package to reconfigure the car park entrance, provide the surface water attenuation and provide the additional car parking spaces before moving onto the main build.
Works are due to commence on site September 2020 with completion in July 2021.
