Congratulations to 55 Colmore Row which has been named top refurbished/recycled workplace at the tenth British Council for Offices (BCO) Midlands and Central England awards.
The conversion from a single occupier building into prime grade A commercial accommodation was praised by judges who highlighted the fact that many challenges had to be overcome, including the successful incorporation of the original Victorian banking hall and existing stone facades into the finished complex.
Projex worked with Birmingham-based IM Properties to carry out the £30 million renovation at one of Birmingham’s best known and historic business addresses.
It secured three of the largest office requirements in the market in 2017 and is now home to the RICS, Pinsent Masons and Savills.
Projex initially undertook the pre-acquisition survey and working with the client design team brought forward development proposals, managing subsequent planning approvals, enabling works package and a comprehensive two stage tender process. Once on site Projex helped deliver a complex Grade A office refurbishment involving extension; repair and refurbishment of the Grade II listed façade and banking hall.
Projex also reviewed and monitored the tenant fit outs on behalf of the landlord whilst managing post completion refurbishments to create the bespoke A3 restaurant requirements.
