Time Flies When You Are Having Fun!
Projex directors had more than a few good reasons to celebrate this week when they met for a regular monthly board meeting.
As well as a number of new instructions, including PM for clients such as Land Securities, LxB, Wrenbridge, Trebor and IM Properties, together with further surveying work across the UK for other leading funds and developers, the company was celebrating its 5th birthday!
Appropriately, the meeting took place in the beautiful wood-panelled former office of the founder of Tetley Brewery – wood is the symbol for 5th anniversaries and the combination of wood and beer is certainly an appropriate one for this firm of building consultants!
The office forms part of a new centre for contemporary art and learning, The Tetley, housed in the landmark former headquarters of the historic brewery, which was established by Joshua Tetley in Leeds in 1822.
Projex is one of the original founding partners and friends of the new cultural centre and has provided a range of services, including initial due diligence prior to lease negotiations and construction advice throughout the refurbishment ahead of the venue’s opening last November.
Whilst setting up a new business in the middle of the recession certainly had its challenges, Phil Tomalin says that “the foundations laid over the last five years have enabled us to look forward extremely positively and take advantage of improving marketing conditions.”
We are setting a few events in train to celebrate in our usual quiet way over the year across both offices…… the main priority remains client delivery…… but clearly all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy…… thankfully we don’t employ anyone called Jack!!
