Projex has been appointed to advise on the construction of over 800 new hotel beds in the past six months.
The appointments come on the back of the consultancy’s extensive experience in the leisure sector, having delivered a number of major successful mixed-use developments for leading UK companies such as LxB, Landsec and Hammerson.
Projex is appointed on two hotel projects for Paradigm Asset Management, which involve the redevelopment of former regional newspaper offices in Liverpool and Newcastle held by Trinity Mirror Group.
The redevelopment of the Liverpool Echo and printing works site has been designed by architects Corstorphine + Wright to take advantage of the building’s stunning views across the Mersey and city and include a 207-bed hotel with ‘sky bar’ on the top of the tower.
Plans were submitted to Liverpool Council in January and the project will also include offices, car parking as well as retail units and a gym at street level.
If approved, work would start on site in May with an initial strip out and asbestos removal contract, with main development works commencing late September 2018 for a period of twelve months. Projex is providing full consultancy including PM/EA/QS and principal designer roles.
Elsewhere, Projex is advising on a new 421-bed project opposite the Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford, comprising a 285-bed Hilton Curio and 136-bedroom Adagio aparthotel.
The company is also appointed on a new Premier Inn in Hertford for Wrenbridge and a 72-bed Premier Inn for Roubaix AM at Fareham and recently advised on a new multi-million pound spa development at Swinton Park, a luxury castle hotel in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and one of the largest privately-owned family estates in the country. Projex was the appointed client representative for the Swinton Park project.
