Projex has been praised for its work in helping transform a former yarn and corn warehouse on the banks of the River Aire into a high specification contemporary work environment for dynamic and creative businesses.
Concordia Works on Sovereign Street, Leeds, was handed over in October 2016 following a 37-week programme on behalf of Boultbee Brooks. It has now secured tenants to four of the five floors and received the Regional BCO Award for projects under 1,500m2 at the awards ceremony in Manchester on 5 April 2017.
James Whitcher, Asset Management Director at Boultbee Brooks, said:
“Thanks to all of you for playing your part in transforming a knackered unloved building into something very special. It’s rare to work on a project where everyone involved is so enthusiastic and passionate about delivering a great product! The early letting and brilliant feedback is testament to that team effort.”
Projex was appointed as PM/EA/QS and PD on the project which involved a Category A refurbishment with complete reconfiguration of the space internally.
This included a new stair and toilet core, exposed services, new glazed brick lift shaft, feature lift, high specification washrooms and showers, glass floor sections, as well as a new roof, windows and curtain walling throughout the 15,000 sq ft building.
